“Write For Freedom” is a blog that has a story to tell. Whether the story be our own or one of yours we want to tell it. We don’t want to be held back from publishing our work because it won’t be liked by other people or go viral. We don’t care about going viral or getting a lot of followers; all we want is to share OUR word.
My first job was a writer. It wasn’t a planned job, it kind of came out of nowhere, but when I got it I was really excited. I thought, “Finally, a chance for me to share my work with other people,” but sadly that wasn’t the case. Within a month of writing I realized the editors and publishers didn’t really care what I had to say, but cared more about what others wanted to read. They wanted me to write articles short enough to keep a college students attention, but nothing too deep into detail. I wasn’t a fan of that and knew something had to change.
That is how “Write For Freedom” came about. The name of our movement is a play on words with “right” and “write.” We were all born, in America, with the right to freedom, but that birth right is challenged everyday. Join the “Write For Freedom” movement if writing is valuable to you; if it is your life.
Writing is a great way to get things off your chest. If you don’t want to talk to someone writing your feelings, thoughts, dreams, pain, and hopes are just as great.
